Scrum Master - Freelancer (m/f/d)

Roche Diabetes Care Austria GmbH

Let’s build a healthier future, together. The mySugr GmbH was acquired by Roche in 2017 and the Vienna office is one of Roche's global sites. You will be located here, in the heart of Vienna, no matter if you work on a mySugr, Accu-Chek, navify or any other Roche product or solution.

Here's what we're looking for:

We are looking for a Scrum Master who shares our passion for Agile product development and is able to drive it forward, supporting up to two teams in an Agile Release Train. You’ll be working on a chronic care solution, enabling teams to deliver value that really impacts patient care.

We constantly reflect, learn, and improve how we work, with the goal of enabling high-performing, focused, and sustainable teams. You will act as a delivery and team-effectiveness coach, helping teams deliver value, stay focused, improve flow, and collaborate better across the ART.

What you’ll do

  • Help teams deliver value by keeping a clear focus on Sprint Goals, the Team Backlog, and ART priorities.
  • Facilitate decision-making, remove blockers, and make risks and impediments visible.
  • Support coordination across teams and ART-level ceremonies, especially around dependencies.
  • Use team metrics to learn, reflect, and continuously improve how teams deliver.
  • Improve ways of working by evolving roles, ceremonies, processes, and tools.
  • Encourage experimentation, learning, and adaptation across teams.
  • Coach teams on Agile, Lean, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe principles.
  • Help teams build trust, autonomy, and strong collaboration.
  • Support teams in achieving the right capacity and skills to deliver effectively.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
  • 7+ years working in software product development.
  • Solid experience with Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • SAFe 6.0 Certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
  • Comfortable handling team and cross-team conflicts and impediments.
  • Technical background: experience in software development and/or a technical degree.

Roche is committed to providing a healthy, equal and inclusive working environment. The company cares about family friendly career paths, sustainability, a healthy lifestyle and the flexibility of a modern workplace, and maintains a culture of learning, sharing and candid feedback.
