The following position will be filled at the Department of Networked and Embedded Systems at the Faculty of Technical Sciences. The starting date is negotiable; the preferred starting date is November 16, 2026, the latest possible starting date is January 11, 2027.
Your responsibilities
- Research in one of the following domains: machine learning, communication systems and signal processing, or electronic based systems.
- Independent research with the aim to submit a dissertation and acquire the PhD.
- Teaching in the field of electrical and computer engineering.
- Participation in administrative and organisational tasks of the department.
- Student mentoring.
- Assistance in public relations activities of department and faculty.
Your profile
- Completed university degree, Master or Diplom-Ingenieur, in electrical engineering, information and communications engineering, computer engineering, or closely related fields.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Experience in three or more of the following fields: machine learning, signal/data processing, communications theory, information theory, circuits and systems theory, control theory, wireless communications, power line communications, smart grids.
- Completed courses or projects in the specified research domains.
- Academic theses in one of the specified research domains.
- A solid foundation in engineering mathematics and statistics.
- Programming skills in one or more of C/C++, Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, GNU radio, VHDL, HFSS, CST, ADS.
- Ability to present a technical subject with clarity and rigour.
Additional qualifications
- Knowledge of German.
- Good social, team work and communication competences.
- First research contributions through thesis work, research projects or publications.
- Relevant international experience.
