As a Project Service Engineer, you will strengthen project delivery performance within Power Plant Engineering by supporting various project execution activities. You will be enabling transparent KPI governance, robust risk management, support plant documentation, project supply chain management, cost engineering and assist in structured continuous-improvement routines. You will maintain dashboards, facilitate root-cause analyses and workshops, track engineering WIP and Balance of Plant cost drivers, and help embed standardized practices across the project lifecycle in close collaboration with the executing engineering teams and other key stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assist in project execution activities: incl. plant documentation, supply chain management and cost engineering
  • Monitor and assess project risks on customer orders, ensuring timely identification and reporting to management.
  • Host and maintain intuitive dashboards that support KPI governance, with transparent definitions, ownership, and high data quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and process enhancements.
  • Facilitate root cause analyses, workshops, and lessons-learned sessions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Track and report on project timelines, engineering WIP jobs, and costs for BoP components and installation services, highlighting deviations and supporting corrective actions.
  • Cooperate with Engineering Finance during the quarterly WIP (Work in Progress) job closing process.
  • Actively document and share lessons learned.
  • Develop, introduce, and continuously improve processes related to risk management, quality assurance, and project execution.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations on project status, risks, and process performance, including setup within myproject.
  • Support audits and process reviews, ensuring readiness and compliance.
  • Proactively spot trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend targeted actions to optimize results.
  • Act as a key contact for process-related topics within the Project Structuring team.
Your Profile:
  • Higher Secondary School of Business Administration or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • First experience in process improvement, project management, or operational excellence roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Minitab) is a plus.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational adoption of new processes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in German (native) and English (business level).
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of working time.
  • Valid work permit for Austria is a prerequisite for this position (Non-EU citizens: please attach your work permit to the application).

Jenbach

Strom und Wärme entstehen hier nicht im großen Kraftwerk, sondern im Motor. INNIO Jenbacher baut in Tirol Gasmotoren, die ganze Fabriken, Krankenhäuser oder Stadtviertel zugleich mit Strom und Wärme versorgen. Die kleinsten leisten rund 250 Kilowatt, die größten über zehn Megawatt. Entwickelt und gefertigt wird das im Inntal, im Einsatz sind die Motoren in rund 100 Ländern.

Das Unternehmen entwickelt und baut Gasmotoren und Blockheizkraftwerke, die Strom und Wärme in einem Schritt erzeugen. Die Leistung reicht von rund 250 Kilowatt bis 10,6 Megawatt. Betrieben werden die Motoren mit Erdgas, zunehmend aber auch mit Biogas, Klär- und Deponiegas oder Wasserstoff. Genau dieses Feld wächst mit der Energiewende. Zu den Kunden zählen Industriebetriebe, Energieversorger, Kommunen und Gärtnereien rund um den Globus; über 26.000 Jenbacher Motoren liefen bisher in rund 100 Länder.

Sitz und Herzstück der Fertigung liegen in Jenbach im Tiroler Unterland. Hier arbeiten rund 1.500 Menschen, weltweit sind es über 2.000. Die Wurzeln des Standorts reichen weit zurück: 1959 als Jenbacher Werke gegründet, gehörte das Werk später zu General Electric und ist seit 2018 unter dem Namen INNIO Teil der Beteiligungsgesellschaft Advent International. Der Markenname Jenbacher blieb. Ein eigenes Servicenetz betreut die ausgelieferten Anlagen über ihre gesamte Lebensdauer, oft über Jahrzehnte hinweg.

Wer hier anfängt, trifft auf viele Berufsbilder. In der Produktion stehen Mechatroniker und Zerspanungstechniker an den Maschinen, in der Entwicklung arbeiten Konstrukteure an der nächsten Motorengeneration, dazu kommen Fachleute im Service und in der Verwaltung. Auffällig ist die eigene Lehrwerkstatt. Rund 100 Lehrlinge lernen dort acht Lehrberufe, etwa 2.000 Fachkräfte hat der Betrieb auf diesem Weg schon ausgebildet. Bei Wettbewerben wie den TyrolSkills landen die Jenbacher Lehrlinge regelmäßig vorne. Gefertigt wird bis heute in Jenbach, am selben Ort, an dem 1959 die ersten Motoren entstanden.
