Do you have the required Data Science skills to drive real impact at one of the most recognisable brands globally?

 

In this role, you'll contribute and lead global Data Science projects in the production and quality space, enabling stakeholders to make better data-driven decisions. You will work closely with other team members and production, quality assurance and risk management stakeholders to build, run, and improve data science products. You will focus on statistical analyses to solve ad-hoc business problems to generate impact, as well as contribute your valuable project management expertise to drive projects from idea to impact. Finally, never content with the status-quo, you will also be responsible for innovation – for instance by introducing new data-driven business ideas, new statistical methods, new data products, or by supporting new business processes.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Science or in a related field; experience in production and quality analytics is a plus.
  • Masters or Doctorate in relevant field, for instance: Mathematics, Statistics, Science (including data, behavioural, social, econ, ...)
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written. German is a strong plus.
  • Programming: know at least one of R, Python, SQL with the ability and willingness to learn the other two
  • Data Literacy: ability to curate and present data in a way that allows stakeholders to quickly understand key patterns, insights, and implications for decision-making
  • Statistical Reasoning: theoretical and applied understanding of Stats, Probability and ML Algorithms and know how to use these tools to reduce uncertainty in a business context (e.g. regression, visualisation)
  • Technical Literacy: applied understanding of modern computing to do things which go beyond the strict definition of Data Science (Git, API calls, web crawling, prompt engineering…)
  • Presentation Skills: present coherent data stories at the appropriate level of abstraction given the audience
  • Stakeholder Management: skilled at building mutually beneficial connections with functional stakeholders
  • Pragmatic Critical Thinking: intuitively consider relevant costs/benefits in all decisions and act accordingly
  • Outcome Driven: highly motivated to add value and to demonstrate that impact to the organisation
  • Scientific Reasoning/ Scoping: ability to define and formulate new questions, in addition to answering given ones
  • Grit: proven capability to see things through to the end even if initial feedback is discouraging
  • Travel 0-10%

Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is EUR 2,446 gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary. ServusTV läuft im Fernsehen, das Red Bulletin liegt am Kiosk, auf dem Handy startet ein Clip von RedBull.com. Oft steht dahinter dasselbe Unternehmen: Red Bull Media House in Wals-Siezenheim bei Salzburg. Es produziert Fernsehen, Magazine und Filme und bringt sie über eigene digitale Kanäle zum Publikum. Gegründet wurde die Gesellschaft 2007, heute arbeiten über 1.000 Menschen allein in Österreich dafür.

ServusTV ist der größte Privatsender Österreichs. Der Kanal zeigt Live-Sport, Nachrichten und viel rund um Natur und Heimat. Daneben haben mehrere Magazine ihr eigenes, treues Publikum: „Servus in Stadt & Land“ für alle, die es bodenständig mögen, „Bergwelten“ für die, die gern hinaufsteigen, das Red Bulletin für Geschichten aus Sport und Kultur. In den hauseigenen Studios entstehen aufwendige Naturdokumentationen, wie man sie sonst von großen internationalen Produktionen kennt. Über RedBull.com und die Streamingangebote erreichen die Inhalte ein Publikum in mehr als 170 Ländern.

Das Ganze gehört zum Getränkekonzern Red Bull, und diese Nähe prägt den Arbeitsalltag. Wer hier anfängt, produziert selten nur für eine Region, sondern für Kanäle mit weltweiter Reichweite. Entsprechend breit sind die Berufe. In den Redaktionen arbeiten Journalistinnen und Videoproducer, an den Sets stehen Kameraleute und Cutter, im Hintergrund sorgen Leute aus IT, Marketing, Lizenzgeschäft und Vertrieb dafür, dass Sendung, Heft und Stream beim Publikum ankommen.

Herzstück ist der Standort in Wals-Siezenheim, gleich neben Salzburg. Dort steht ein eigenes Sendezentrum mit Live-Broadcasting, Nachrichtenstudio und Postproduktion. Damit bleibt ServusTV rund um die Uhr auf Sendung.
